Sadly we lost our Tulip on 5/3/2024 so we never really got the chance to use much of it.

My beloved dog was diagnosed with Stage 2 renal failure in Jan 2023. His primary care vet gave him "months" to live. Under the direction of a veterinary nutritionist, we formulated a CKD diet using BalanceIT Canine K. My dog has been thriving on this diet. Even 16+ months later, he's doing remarkably well and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Our dog has done well on BalaceIT, but we much preferred the plastic containers the product was previously sold in. The bags are more difficult to open every day and the product is more difficult to get out of the bag.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the packaging. We understand that the child-resistant closure (CRC) can make the bags more challenging to open. The wider opening design is intended to facilitate easier access to the powder at the bottom, but we apologize if this hasn't been your experience. For now this is the best current solution we have been able to find to address the need to both reduce plastic use and ensure child safety.

My dog is on a kidney prescription diet. She recently started the diet. She likes the food. Won't know about kidney function until her next blood test.

My 7lb chihuahua is in kidney failure with advanced uremia. Without balance.it as a resource and dietary recommendations, I would not have otherwise known that my dog was not receiving proper nutrition from the human foods that I am now feeding him. He was literally on death’s door and I’ve been able to allow him continued life and happiness for another month. I also feel confident that I’m providing him the best nutrition possible given his disease state. The recipes that are derived for his disease are very limited and he doesn’t like most of the ingredients (rice and eggs), which has made proper meals challenging. I’m doing the best I can to ensure he’s happy and as healthy as he can be. I’ve been able to use the macronutrient percentages that balance.it has recommended in the diet and substitute a few things of equal quality that he will actually eat. At this point, I feel good about the nutrition he is receiving and that he is still thriving given his advanced condition. After all of the information I have obtained, if I had another dog, I would actually consider home made meals with balance.it supplements over pre-packaged dog food. Thanks for the knowledge and supplements that are sustaining my dog right now! I’ll take every day I can get.
