My dog started throwing up his prescription low-fat chicken and rice kibble, so I thought that the easiest way to see if it was a chicken allergy or just a problem with the kibble would be to do chicken and rice through BalanceIt using the same protein/carb/fat ratio. I thought it would be expensive but save me a lot of guesswork. I was wrong. It actually ends up costing *less* than the food I was buying. He immediately stopped throwing up, obviously feels good, and has nice, firm, not-smelly poops. I also got prompt and thorough help with my questions from customer service. My senior dog was refusing every type of food we tried over a 4 month time frame. Our vet recommended your recipes and this has changed her life. We’ve only been using this for 8 weeks and while she still eats less she looks, feels better and she’s happy again. This says a lot for a 13 year old dog who survived cancer a year ago and had a touch and go moment due to not eating recently. Homemade food is work but I’d make it every day for this result!

My vet nutritionist subscribed a prescription Balance IT for kidney disease for a pup I had years ago and her lab numbers got better. The pup I have now doesn’t need a prescription so is on regular Balance IT and I make a home-cooked diet and she loves it! Licks her bowl clean! I wish the product still came in jars though, because now it’s messy, you lose some product transferring it to a jar, which I do to keep it fresh and cleaner. The bags I don’t trust to seal proplerly, because some of the product gets into the grooves of the seal so it can’t seal properly. Please bring back the jars!

We understand some customers prefer our previous bottle packaging, and we will definitely take your feedback into consideration when making future changes. Per federal law, we cannot recommend transferring the contents into a reusable and resealable container that you might prefer and like most cooks do for other bagged powdered cooking ingredients like flour or sugar. Legally, we must tell you that any container must have a child resistant closure (CRC; aka “be childproof”) given its high nutrient content. This special packaging requirement protects against accidental ingestion of all of the contents at once by a child.
For now, we believe this is the best option available while meeting both environmental and legal/regulatory concerns/requirements.

My Pomeranian is a picky eater and will only eat home cooked meals. She will not eat any dog food at all! I am thrilled that balance.it provides all the nutrition she needs and I love referring to the website in regard to creating her recipes.
