Excellent benefits

I started my then 13 year old pug who has seborreah (greasy kind) with the Balnce it recipes and vitamins per my vet in February of 2024. Her seborreah is almost completely nonexistent now, with only a few minor flare ups. Her fur which was course is now very soft and she looks and acts so much better. She turned 14 June 4th and doing great. We have noticed she prefers turkey and chicken over ground beef. Hopefully she will be with us a few more years.

So far so good!

I purchased this product at the recommendation of our vet after our dogs had some tummy upset when I started cooking food for them. He explained that even fresh cooked food may be lacking vitamins and minerals they need. Ultimately, we decided this wasn't working for our older small-breed, but our younger, larger girl is loving her dinner and has no more tummy issues.

It's so easy to use the Balance It, as I just scoop and mix into the food when it is still warm, then fridge or overnight, then I bag and freeze the portions. The only thing I do not like is the weird Ziploc closure on the bag. I cannot get it to work and have to keep the whole package inside a plastic container. Otherwise, it's great!

While we believe we have made the best decision for the environment (a plastic reduction of 82%) while also meeting regulatory requirements with our updated packaging, we understand the child-resistant closure (CRC) on our bags is inherently difficult to open. Per federal law, we cannot recommend transferring the contents into a reusable and resealable container that you might prefer and like most cooks do for other bagged powdered cooking ingredients like flour or sugar. Legally, we must tell you that any container must have a CRC given its high nutrient content. This special packaging requirement protects against accidental ingestion of all of the contents at once by a child.

it’s a Godsend!

I was so intimidated to start feeding my Rottweilers a home cooked diet. Trying to figure out the caloric need and recipes that would meet those was almost impossible for me. A wonderful alternative to commercial dog food

My senior dog stopped tolerating (quality) dog kibble. The expense of canned food wasn’t an option. Being able to make food for him, appropriately balanced for his nutrition has been a real life saver!

The zip lock closure needs to be better. I can never close them

Thank you for sharing your review. We're sorry to hear you have had difficulty with the zip closure on our bags. The bags are inherently more difficult to open and close due to the legally required child resistant closure (CRC).

We upgraded our packaging line to using CRC bags to proactively address the growing environmental concern of excessive plastic packaging by manufacturers especially given the poor rate of recycling domestically. This packaging change allowed us to reduce plastic packaging by 82%. While we believe we have invested in the best currently available option given concurrent legal/regulatory and environmental concerns, we will definitely take your feedback into consideration when making any future changes.
