Dog with Allergies

We adopted a Bull Terrier who needed a new home at age 7. He apparently came originally from an unscrupulous breeder in TX and we inherited a dog with extreme ear issues and allergies. Have been using a BalanceIt diet at recommendation of our vet and he is doing pretty well. Using the recommended vitamin supplement as well. His allergies are fairly well controlled (also he is on Apoquel) and his coat is shiny and he is in proper weight range. Will continue on current plan -- it's not cheap and it is somewhat time consuming, but we love him and I can't imagine feeding him kibble again.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Balance It® Canine, Jill! It's wonderful to hear that your adopted adult Bull Terrier has experienced improved health and better-controlled allergies with your veterinary recommended diet.

It's clear you're dedicated to providing him with the best care possible, and we're grateful to be a part of his journey. If you ever have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Care Team at info@balanceit.com.

Loved this product

My dog is allergic to kibble (all of them) and we were doing fresh food. He started to steal food, the vet told us it was probably lack of nutrients, and recommended to try balance it.
He’s been on it for two weeks and he is not begging or stealing food anymore! He loves the food and has no problem with the supplements. They seem to be exactly what he needs! And the recipes are amazing, lots of ingredients to choose from and easy to make!

Thank you for your review, Julieta! We're so happy to hear that both you and Cooper have had a positive experience with Balance It.

We hope he continues to love his new 'amazing' and 'easy to make' homemade recipes with the addition of Balance It® Canine.

Used it for years

I have used Balance it for years and years, it completes the home made diet I make for my yorkies. Years ago a veterinarian nutritionist from Angell Hospital in Boston, wrote a home made diet for one of my ailing yorkies, she recommended I add Balance it to make sure she got her essential vitamins and minerals.
I have used it and recommended it ever since.
My only problem with it, when I started using it, was that the jar I had to purchase was literally bigger than my dog. The shelf life was very short and I had to throw away most of it.
In recent years, the packaging has changed and now I can buy small packages and never have to dispose of the left over product.
The Balance it site and support are very helpful, and even can help you write your own home made food for your pet.
I highly recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Balance It® Canine, Linda. We are so happy to hear that you have been successfully using our product in your Yorkies' diets for years.

We're also pleased to hear that you found our smaller 20 gram pouches beneficial. This size can be more convenient for smaller animal companions that require less supplement over time.

Finally, it's wonderful to know that you find our website and support helpful. We appreciate your recommendations to others and hope your Yorkies are doing well.

As a 3 year of my standard poodle developed serious liver failure. Thanks to a excellent internal medicine Vet and a dietary specialist Vet who created a diet for my pet, my wonderful girl is still alive and very healthy
I am convinced that Balance It has made this possible. She gets a home cooked meal, and Balance It makes sure she gets the vitamins and minerals necessary for good health and high energy,

Balance.it

Our vet recomended Balance.it and it seems to work well for our pup. Only critizism is that it is rather expensive.

Thank you for your five-star review, Philip! It's great to hear that Balance It® Canine has worked well for your pup, especially following your veterinarian's recommendation.

We understand your concern about the cost and we do our best to keep all of our prices as low as possible while providing the highest quality product available on the market.

Our founder has co-authored multiple studies along with faculty at leading veterinary schools (e.g., J Am Vet Med Assoc. 2022;260(S3):S53-S60 ) that show that while home cooked food (aka human) grade diets may be less expensive than canned or wet feed (aka animal) grade food, they cost more than comparable kibble or dry feed grade commercially prepared diets. Overall we are confident that our ecosystem of technical expertise & support, free recipes, and human dietary supplement grade Balance It® supplements provide the best overall value and convenience possible.

We hope your dog continues to do well.

Rexo’s Mom
I wish I had found this sooner!

I am so grateful for this. My dog has Addison’s Disease, which means when he experiences stress, or if he needs a med adjustment, his stomach goes haywire. Everytime, it takes weeks of meds and sometimes vet visits to fix him. I have had to keep changing his foods and have been on a super high priced prescription kibble for some time, that he began to no longer tolerate. His stomach got so I could feed him chicken and rice, but as soon as I fed him the fancy dog food he would start to have diarrhea. The vet told me to try a different prescription dog food, which was okay at first but would then cause problems after a few days, so I would go back to the chicken and rice. It went on for weeks like this, and he was getting too skinny with the back and forth diarrhea. I thought, “well if he can eat human food fine, why do I have to feed him dog food at all?” I remembered a different vet tell me about balance.it, so I thought now is the time to try it. I began by trying out different human foods he liked, most did not cause him any stomach issues, a few did, also some he liked and some he didn’t, eventually… I got a whole recipe together which he liked and tolerated, from there, I slowly added in the balance.it supplement. And now 2 months later, lo and behold-my Rexy pup is back! He is doing so good! His poops are the best they’ve ever been, even before he had Addison’s. Plus, he loves eating now. Before he would throw the kibble around the house in disgust, like a puppy Gordon Ramsey. And because I need to feed him more volume to get the same calories as kibble, he gets to eat 4 times a day. (I can’t feed him too much at once or he tells me his tummy hurts and whines). But anyways, he loves getting to eat yummy food more often. He is literally happier than he was before. I know because he is chihuahua-pug and if he doesn’t like life, he lets me know how disappointed he is with me through a myriad of serious stares, wistful sighs, jumping on my head if horizontal, the list goes on, now there is more sunbathing, cuddles for me and contented snuffles. I love balance.it. And get this-it’s actually cheaper than what I was having to pay before. I had to buy wet, Hills Prescription ID food, which costs 4-5.5$ a can, and he needed 2.5 cans a day. With balance.it, I buy bulk ingredients and make big batches that last two weeks. I priced a single two-week batch at a 40$ per batch. The supplement costs .70 cents per day. So before I was spending $168 every two weeks, now I spend $49.80 every two weeks. This is a game changer. My dog is healthy, he is happy, and I spend less money! The only problem is I do have to spend about 2.5 hrs cooking and prepping and cleaning afterwards his food. I don’t have a dishwasher. But it’s so worth it to me, this is time I would have spent going to the vet trying to get answers and spending even more money from the vet visits anyways. Our lives are so much better, so I honestly enjoy making his food knowing how happy he will be. Also, I love knowing I am not buying dog food that was made with parts from animals that were treated inhumanely. I have not tried it yet, but I see there is tofu as a protein option, maybe you could even omit animal ingredients! It’s something I’m going to look into. For now I am buying humanely raised, free range organic turkey. One more thing-the website is great! I love this layout where I get to pick foods, and it then makes a recipe for me. I wish I had this for my human self. Maybe I would be as healthy as my dog! Thanks again balance.it. You’ve Changed Our Lives!

Thank you for sharing Rexo's journey with us and for adding a couple of photos. Rexo is such a handsome boy. It's heartwarming to hear how Balance It® has made such a positive impact on his health and happiness.

We're thrilled to have played a part in changing your lives for the better. Here's to many more happy meals and sunny days ahead for both of you!
